Is Lenovo G550 a modified version?

Laptop manufacturers are now shifting from 16:10 display to 16:9. The new Lenovo G550 is a modified version of G530 in which we can see this change. In my opinion, its new black weave pattern is much better than the matte exterior finish. The interior and exterior have no color difference. Its chassis is made of plastic and give a solid and sturdy look.

It comes with Intel Pentium Dual-core microprocessor and 3/4GB DDR3 SDRAM. This notebook has a better touchpad and Graphics Media Accelerator. It has 320GB hard disk.

The keyboard is very user friendly and has no audible click when pressed. The keys have a matte finish, which is very attractive. It is also provided with touch sensitive mute and volume buttons on the keyboard.

The touchpad used in Lenovo G530 was Synaptic model. In the modified version, they used ALPS pad. So sometimes you may feel that pointer is lagging.

G550 is larger than G530, but Expresscard slot is removed, and number of ports get reduced from four to three. I think this may be a reason for cutting the cost.
